Funzione nel sistema di raffreddamento:
La sua funzione principale, come parte del sistema di raffreddamento, è quella di aiutare il motore a raggiungere e mantenere la sua temperatura operativa ottimale, solitamente intorno ai 90 gradi Celsius.

– Avviamento a freddo: Quando il motore è freddo, il termostato all’interno dell’alloggiamento rimane chiuso, impedendo al liquido di raffreddamento di circolare nel radiatore. Ciò consente al motore di riscaldarsi rapidamente.

– Raggiungimento della temperatura operativa: Una volta che il liquido di raffreddamento raggiunge la temperatura prestabilita (ad esempio 87-90°C), il termostato si apre, permettendo al liquido caldo di fluire verso il radiatore per essere raffreddato.

– Mantenimento della temperatura: Il termostato si apre e si chiude continuamente per regolare il flusso e mantenere una temperatura del motore costante ed efficiente, fondamentale per la lubrificazione, il consumo di carburante e le prestazioni ottimali del motore.

Vantaggi dell’alluminio:
L’uso dell’alluminio per questo componente offre notevoli vantaggi rispetto ai materiali alternativi, come la plastica o la gomma, spesso soggetti a rotture a causa delle fluttuazioni di temperatura e della pressione.

– Resistenza e durata: L’alluminio è significativamente più robusto e meno soggetto a rotture o deformazioni dovute al calore e alla pressione elevati presenti nel circuito di raffreddamento.
